Background

This is a 6-figure brand. However, Amazon was mainly being used for brand awareness, not as a fully optimized profit channel.

The brand operates with very tight gross margins, which means even small ad inefficiencies can heavily impact profitability.

The goal was to improve ranking, increase sales, and significantly improve profit performance.

Problem

  • Heavy reliance on Sponsored Brands
  • No structured ranking strategy
  • Sponsored Products not optimized properly
  • Budget allocation lacked precision
  • Tight margins left no room for wasted spend

Because of this: Profit was low, net margin was weak, ROI was underperforming, and Amazon was not being used to its full potential.

What I Did

1. Ranking System

  • Launched Exact campaigns for core keywords
  • Used Phrase and Broad for discovery
  • Optimized Top of Search placement bids
  • Increased bids strategically on ranking terms
  • Focused only on profitable scaling

This improved both paid and organic ranking.

2. Balanced Ad Strategy

  • Sponsored Products focused on conversions and ranking
  • Sponsored Brands focused on visibility and protection
  • Both ad types worked together strategically

3. Profit Optimization

  • Removed waste aggressively
  • Added negative keywords consistently
  • Cut high-cost, low-return search terms
  • Shifted budget toward profitable campaigns
  • Focused on Net Profit, Margin, and ROI, not just ACoS
